Graduation 2017

Graduation ceremonies happened this week at MOHI and everyone pulled together to make it a beautiful event. What a special moment for our kindergartener students and high school seniors, their families, their friends, their teachers, Lex and I. Many of these seniors have been in our school from the time they were 3. The Thozin students and staff chose red and yellow for their colors. Very Caribbean looking! And the kindergarteners? There's Stanley who we've known since birth. . It's such a joy to us to watch them grow, see their efforts and watch them be honored in front of so many. Sometimes the ceremonies get a little long... The school in St. Etienne chose gray and blue. Everyone, st

He's a Good Good Father

Happy Father's Day to all you amazing dads!!! In Haiti, Father's Day often goes unnoticed, but I am so grateful for the many wonderful father's in our churches. We have some wonderful examples of godly dads in our pastoral staff, most of whom are now coming into the stage of grandfathering. I love to see the attention they give to the little ones and the tenderness with which they reach out to them. It's been such a blessing to me to watch our former youth group and high school students becoming the next generation of parents. Scherly has been a part of the church in Thozin since the year we started. She is now the mother of three boys and her husband, Stanley, is a good and godly man.

The sights, sounds, smells, culture, even the weather is usually different than what we're accustomed to back home. One thing visitors often tell Lex and me is something along the lines of, "It's amazing what you've done here!" I always agree with them that what is happening at MOHI in Haiti is nothing short of amazing, but I don't like to leave it at that. I like to point out that most everything you see at MOHI has absolutely nothing to do with Lex and I being amazing, talented, skilled people. Most everything h

Our son, AJay, was two years old when we responded to the Lord calling us to Haiti. The past two years he has lived with our friends Paul and Cheryl Minor in Belmont, MA. We are so grateful for their desire to not only care for AJay and ensure he finished high school, but also for their desire to enable Lex and I to continue to spend so much time in Haiti. Our heartfelt gratitude goes out to them, their patient children, and our wonderful friends at All Saints Church. AJay graduated from Minuteman Regional High School on Friday and Cheryl threw a party for him on Saturday. It's always such a joy to see the love of friends and family reaching out to our family. Thank you to everyone who
