

I Love You Mommy
Today is a doubly special day. It's Memorial Day in The United States. I was so touched by this video that I wanted to share it with you, too, in honor of those who gave their all for us. In Haiti, today is Mother's Day. It's a very big deal. As a society, Haitians love and honor their mothers - perhaps more than anyone else. I enjoyed listening to Pastor Edon telling the church to give their mothers hugs and say "I love you, Mommy" - and then everyone got up and did it.


Flag Day in Haiti
May 18th citizens of Haiti, young and old alike, take great pleasure in celebrating Flag Day. I thought you might enjoy seeing our preschoolers singing and waving their homemade flags... As the school year begins to wind down (or gear up, as the case may be), we see our students are working hard and enjoying their time at school. Computer time, like library time, is greatly valued. The Fluoride Swish program in the school is helping to protect our students' teeth from decay.


Mother's Day Reflections
Jephte and Pastor Hakine met with Max Manning of Global Missions Ministries this week to discuss arrangements for the food he's shipped to Haiti for us. We are so grateful for his willingness to share Kids Against Hunger food with us! We still need an additional $1,800 to cover the cost of shipping.
