With Might & Heart

I so appreciate the wisdom of Ecclesiastes 9:10, "Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with your might..." and Colossians 3:23-24 "Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving." I often find myself giving this advise to others. How many of us have spent months/years wishing we knew what God was calling us to? How much better to do what is at hand and trust God will reveal His will to you while you are working for HIM?

As my heart longs for "normalcy" to return to Haiti, I am determined to follow this advice. I am praying for our friends in Haiti, gathering funds to feed the hungry, keeping communications going, tackling administrative work, and making myself available to share with people about our work in Haiti. While I am stateside, I am still letting my light shine - at home, in the community, and in the local church. And did I mention I'm praying for our friends in Haiti? Yes, I did.

I'm so grateful to each of you who have donated toward purchasing rice in Haiti to add to the beans we already have on hand. Thank you! We have already been distributing food in some of the Grand-Goave villages. It's true that hunger just won't wait. This week we were able to act quickly to help alleviate hunger for almost 400 families. Hats off to our staff and friends from Youth With a Mission for putting in the necessary grunt work in order to get the food distributed.

We would love to do another distribution this week. Would you help? Please click here to donate and enable us to buy more rice in Haiti. $45 will purchase a large sack of rice and feed 18 families.

Despite continued security issues in the streets of Haiti, the clinics have continued to open their doors to meet the needs of our neighbors.

Monday, October 21, TBN aired Joel Osteen's program called "Your Best Life Now" and it featured about 8 minutes of Lex's testimony. I encourage you to take a look at it. Click on the picture below. Lex's story begins about 13 minutes into the program.

Today we were so blessed to worship with our dear friends, Pastor Kevin and Tammy Groder, at a new church plant called Just Church in Haverhill, MA. I'm so excited for this local church and the vision they have to impact their local community. We look forward to seeing many of the members in Haiti one day. I'm also grateful for the generosity of so many there helping us to continue purchasing rice in Haiti.

Do you live in New England? I would like to invite you to join us this Saturday (Nov. 2, 2019) at Clifton Lutheran Church's annual fundraising event to support MOHI's work in Haiti! If you can't make it, would you consider joining us in prayer for an evening that touches people's lives, not only in Haiti, but also at Clifton Lutheran Church?

Please continue praying with us for Haiti. Thank you for your continued generosity toward the precious people who are victim in this current political uprising.
