Investing in the Next Generation

Today's update is from Taran

"Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it." ~ Proverbs 22:6

Throughout Scripture, we see God's heart for the next generation. Children are not simply the future of the Church—they are part of God's work today. Every lesson taught, every prayer offered, every meal shared, and every act of kindness helps shape the lives of young people who will one day lead their families, churches, and communities.

This past week was filled with opportunities to invest in children. From mission teams laughing and playing with kids in the Dominican Republic, to parents bringing their children for physical therapy in Haiti, to families gathering as they prepared for another school year, we were reminded that some of the greatest investments we can make are in the lives of the next generation.

Dominican Republic Team

This past week we welcomed a team from Bless Back Worldwide and Moments of Hope Church from Charlotte, North Carolina.

The majority of the group was made up of young people who spent much of their ministry time serving in La Grúa through children's programs.

They brought and led a variety of creative activities that the children absolutely loved.

Pool time was a huge hit and quickly became one of the highlights of the week.

The kids also enjoyed playing games together and building new friendships.

The younger children especially loved spending dedicated time reading books, playing with toy cars, and exploring the little library. It was so much fun to watch their excitement!

Throughout the week, so many meaningful connections were formed between the team members and the children in the village.

In addition to serving in the villages, we've started inviting teams to help with some of the everyday responsibilities around the mission house. Our local staff has really enjoyed serving alongside the teams in the kitchen and caring for the animals.

Haiti

At our Physical Therapy Clinic, we have been seeing more parents bringing children who are unable to walk.

This past week we met a little boy named Velcime, who is about five years old. After undergoing two surgeries on his head, his mother brought him to the clinic hoping to find help for her son.

Velcime has lived with significant pain, but our therapy staff welcomed him with compassion, encouragement, and hope.

Although he faces serious physical challenges, his mother continues to believe that there is hope for her son's future.

This past week we also held a parent meeting at the Thozin School, where report cards from the national government exams were distributed.

We have officially begun registration for the upcoming school year, making this an exciting season for both students and families.

It is always encouraging to spend time with parents as we prepare together for another year of learning and growth.

Our staff was thrilled to receive the news that 19 more children have recently been sponsored!

Thank you to everyone who has chosen to invest in the life of a child through sponsorship. Your generosity is providing education, opportunity, and hope while reminding each child that they are deeply loved and supported.

Leaving a Legacy

Every child we encourage today has the potential to impact countless lives tomorrow.

Whether it's a volunteer reading a book with a child, a therapist helping a young boy take another step, a teacher preparing students for a new school year, or a sponsor choosing to invest in a child's education, each act of love becomes part of a much bigger story.

At Mission of Hope International, we believe that investing in children is one of the greatest ways we can leave a lasting legacy. The seeds we plant today—in faith, education, compassion, and hope—will continue to bear fruit for generations to come.
