Today's update is from Renée
The Apostle Paul reminded the Galatians, “Let us not grow weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up” (Galatians 6:9). At Mission of Hope International, we see this truth at work every day—in the joy of children at school, the unity of churches preparing for special events, the careful visits of health promoters, and even in the simple act of providing food to those who are hungry. We are in this together. MOHI is not just about its founders or leaders, it’s a movement of prayer, generosity, and shared hope that stretches across Haiti, the Dominican Republic, and the United States.

This past week, our international leadership team reviewed MOHI’s core values together: Excellence, Trustworthiness, Mutual Respect, Commitment to Growth, and Consideration of Others. The conversations were especially rich around respect. In Haitian culture, respect is foundational to healthy relationships, and it was encouraging to hear how deeply our leaders embrace this value. We thank God for a team that desires to reflect His heart. “Show proper respect to everyone..." (1 Peter 2:17a).

In the Dominican Republic, Nurse Marlouse continues her faithful visits to families in La Grúa, Baraguana, Cambiaso, Playa Cambiaso, and Luperón. She not only provides practical healthcare support, but also brings encouragement and hope to many.

Meanwhile, students in the Bless Back Business Academy just completed a lively session on sales and customer service. Through role-playing, they practiced real-life interactions that will help strengthen their businesses and communities. We are grateful for partners who make such opportunities possible.

Looking ahead, the city of Luperón is buzzing with excitement for Cristo Esperanza de Vida (Christ the Hope of Life), coming October 16–18. With the participation of 27 local churches, popular Dominican Christian artists, and international speakers, this promises to be a time of renewal and transformation. Mèt Ben has already printed and distributed posters, and anticipation is growing. But this event requires significant resources. We need your help now to make it a reality. Would you consider making a generous donation to help draw people to Luperón for a life-changing encounter with Jesus? Click here to give.
In Haiti, the new school year begins this Wednesday in both Thozin and St. Etienne. Preparations have kept Lex busy meeting with directors, teachers, parents, and staff, even while still recovering from a lingering flu. Please pray for renewed strength for him as he does what he loves most.

Just before the annual church conference in Saint Etienne, the water pump broke. Lex and the team worked quickly, and God graciously provided. The pump is now running, water is flowing, and the church family came together in extraordinary ways to host their many guests.

Medical and dental care remain critical in Haiti, where access is scarce and most families cannot afford the little that is available. We are thankful that MOHI’s clinics continue to operate, offering both treatment and compassion to those in great need. It is truly a testimony of God’s provision in hard times. We are truly grateful for the ongoing partnership we have with Bless Back Worldwide, which enables this work to continue.

Our littlest ones are also on our hearts. Through the START NOW program, both in Haiti and the Dominican Republic, we see children bow their heads in prayer before enjoying a nutritious meal. These moments remind us that Christ’s love is both spiritual and tangible. “For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in” (Matthew 25:35).

And here in the United States, we’re thrilled to launch the Spread Hope With Food drive! We are collecting white rice, dried beans, cooking oil, peanut butter, canned meats, and canned fish from now through November 1st. Your contributions will be shipped to Haiti to strengthen our food programs. If your church or place of business would like to be a collection site, please contact Alexis at alexis@mohintl.org.

Friends, you are a vital part of this story. Your prayers, your giving, your encouragement—they keep this mission alive. Together, we are sowing seeds of hope that God will bring to harvest in His time. Thank you for walking with us in faith, in love, and in action.
