Today's update is from Jonathan and Taran
One of the greatest ways we bring hope to Haiti and the Dominican Republic is through education.
Sometimes that education happens in a classroom. Sometimes it happens in a clinic. Sometimes it happens through mentoring, leadership training, or practical life skills.
This week, we were reminded that education has the power to change lives—not only for children, but for families, communities, and future generations.
Across Haiti and the Dominican Republic, we continue seeing people learn, grow, and thrive because of the opportunities made possible through your partnership.

Cultural Day
This week was so much fun!
The school organized a special day of recreational and cultural activities, giving the children an opportunity to have fun, build friendships, celebrate their culture, and learn in an engaging environment.
The younger children enjoyed swimming and games, while older students participated in soccer matches, shirt painting, and a variety of other activities.

One thing that makes our schools unique is that we do not focus solely on books and memorization. We work hard to provide a broad range of experiences that help students grow socially, emotionally, physically, and creatively.
Many schools in Haiti simply do not have the resources to offer these kinds of opportunities. Because of your support, our students receive more than an education—they receive experiences that help shape them into confident and capable young men and women.
Thank you for helping us provide an environment where children can learn, grow, and flourish.

Haiti Updates
Physical Therapy Clinic
We continue receiving encouraging feedback from the community about the new Physical Therapy Clinic.
Already, five patients are receiving therapy on a regular basis, and additional community members have been scheduling individual appointments. Interest continues to grow as more people learn about the services now available.
This clinic represents more than treatment—it represents education. Patients are learning how to strengthen their bodies, recover from injuries, improve mobility, and regain independence.
We are excited to see the impact this new ministry is already having.

Community Health & Malaria Education
There has been a malaria outbreak affecting some of the local communities we serve.
Our medical staff is providing treatment for patients who come to the clinic while also focusing on education and prevention. Families are being taught how malaria spreads, how to care for sick family members, and what steps can be taken to reduce the risk of infection.

Because malaria is spread by mosquitoes, it can be difficult to contain in villages where housing is not designed to keep insects out. Education is one of the most powerful tools we have in helping families protect themselves and their children.

Leadership Conference
Preparations continue for our Annual Leadership Conference.
This year's theme comes from Ephesians 2:8:
"For it is by grace you have been saved through faith."
We are looking forward to welcoming speakers who will invest in pastors and local leaders from across the region.
Each year this conference provides encouragement, training, and spiritual growth for those serving on the front lines of ministry. Please keep our team in prayer as preparations continue.
School Graduations
The end of the school year is quickly approaching, and we are preparing for graduation ceremonies later this month.
Students will be graduating from Preschool, 6th Grade, 9th Grade, and NS4 (High School).
Education is incredibly important in Haiti. For generations, many children never had the opportunity to attend school. Large portions of the population were unable to read or write simply because educational opportunities were unavailable.

It is difficult for many of us to imagine life without the ability to read a book, solve a math problem, or understand basic health concepts.
That is why we celebrate these milestones so enthusiastically.
We are proud of every student and grateful for the hard work they have invested throughout the year.

Business Academy – Haiti
The Business Academy continues producing encouraging results.
One class is preparing for graduation while registrations for the next class have already been completed.
This cohort began with 25 entrepreneurs. While some participants were unable to complete the program due to health concerns or relocation, one statistic stands out:
We achieved a 100% repayment rate on the micro-loans distributed through the program.
These entrepreneurs are building businesses, supporting their families, and creating new opportunities within their communities.
Education truly changes lives.
Dominican Republic Updates
Community Health Promoter Program
Each week, Marlouse visits four different communities, conducting medical follow-ups and caring for patients who were seen through our partnered mobile medical clinics with Bless Back Worldwide.
This past week she met with a woman in Cambiaso who was experiencing significant health concerns. Both she and her husband were worried because she had not been feeling well.
After spending time with the couple, Marlouse realized the woman was experiencing menopause and simply did not understand what was happening to her body.
Marlouse was able to educate, encourage, and reassure both husband and wife about what to expect and how to navigate this season of life.
This encounter was a powerful reminder that healthcare is often about more than medicine.
For many women we serve, access to basic health education has never been available. Marlouse regularly teaches women and families about health, child care, nutrition, and normal biological changes. The confidence and peace of mind this provides can be just as important as medical treatment itself.
It is a beautiful example of education creating hope.

Business Academy – Dominican Republic
We continue receiving excellent reports from our Computer and English classes.
Students are learning digital literacy skills, typing, software navigation, and conversational English. Attendance remains high because students recognize the value these skills bring to their future.
One student in particular, Milcri, has experienced a remarkable transformation.
When she first entered the computer program, she was nervous even to use a keyboard. Today, she understands how to operate basic software and has developed practical skills that are helping her run her business more effectively.
Through the English program, she has also gained the ability to communicate with foreign visitors who come to her business.
Because of these classes, new doors have opened for her family and her future.
Stories like Milcri's remind us that education creates opportunity.
We are grateful to Bless Back Worldwide for creating this curriculum and supporting the education of these students. It was fun to have the Bless Back Team practice English with the students earlier this month.

Welcoming New Mission Teams
We are excited to welcome a new team from Full Gospel Interdenominational Church in Connecticut.
Over the coming week, they will be serving in Haitian bateys, participating in church services, and investing in the communities where we work.
This church has been an incredible partner for many years. Most recently, they have played a major role in helping collect and ship food to Haiti, supporting the feeding programs that serve children every day.
Pastors John and Adrien, thank you for your friendship, generosity, and faithful partnership. We are excited about all that God has planned during this week of ministry together.
Update from Jonathan
This week’s update from Mission of Hope International is short and simple:
James has officially been cleared to return to Haiti as early as the middle of this coming week! This is wonderful news and an answer to many prayers.

At the same time, it creates a bit of a scramble, as travel options to Haiti remain both limited and very expensive. We are making one final push to raise $2,000 to support his return travel and to help provide for the immediate aftercare he will require once back in Haiti.

Most notably, within the next couple of months James will need an echocardiogram that can only be obtained at the hospital near Cap-Haïtien, requiring additional air travel within Haiti.

We are incredibly grateful that his monthly medications will be covered through the nonprofit organization that helped arrange his surgery in the United States.
This is our final call for support for James and our goal of $2,000. Any funds raised beyond that amount will remain available to assist with ongoing monthly family and medical support needs.

Thank you all for making this possible. Your prayers, encouragement, generosity, and support have truly changed a life.
We were also very excited to welcome back to Luperón this past Thursday Pastor Lex, Renee, and Alexis! They arrived ahead of a large team we’ll soon be hosting from Full Gospel Interdenominational Church in Connecticut over the coming days.
We’re looking forward to a full and meaningful week together — celebrating Business Academy graduates, worshipping alongside friends from various parishes here in Luperón, and spending time in the communities we serve in practical and impactful ways.
Thank you for continuing to walk alongside us in this mission.
Closing Thoughts
Education is one of the most powerful tools God has given us to create lasting change.
Whether it is a child learning to read, a patient learning how to protect their health, an entrepreneur learning business principles, or a pastor being equipped to lead, knowledge creates opportunity.
And opportunity creates hope.
Thank you for helping make these opportunities possible every single day.
Because of your prayers, generosity, and partnership, children are learning, families are growing stronger, leaders are being equipped, and communities are being transformed.
Together, we are investing in a brighter future—one life at a time.
