Dominican Republic—La Grúa Housing Project Update
Just a couple of weeks ago, we shared the exciting news that the second building under construction for the fire victims in La Grúa now has a roof! Today, we’re thrilled to let you know that we’re ready for the next step: applying a smooth stucco finish to the exterior walls.
This next phase is estimated to cost about $8,000. Would you consider helping us cross this milestone? Once completed, this building will provide homes for eight more families—plus a dedicated space for our START NOW and Hope Squad programs. These children will finally have boundaries for safety and protection from the hot sun and heavy rains as they learn and grow.

Every gift brings us closer to moving families into safe, dignified housing and providing bright futures for the children of this community. We are better together! Here are some pictures of some of the impact we are making together in healthcare, education, nutrition, sanitation, and clean water—all one step at a time!

Meet Samanthaïna

Samanthaïna is a delightful four-year-old in one of our preschool classes. Her joyful smile lights up every room she enters. Thanks to her faithful sponsors, Matthew and Patricia, Samanthaïna is thriving!
Because of their generosity, she enjoys:
A hot, nutritious meal each day
A quality education with uniform and books
Regular medical and dental care
A nurturing school environment where she experiences the love of Jesus
We’re so grateful for sponsors like Matthew and Patricia, who are helping transform lives. Would you consider doing the same for another child like Samanthaïna? Send me a quick email at renee@mohintl.org—I’d love to help you get started.
Pressing Forward
Meanwhile, the high school students have started their final exams for the school year, and the senior class is studying up a storm, as they prepare for their national exams.

For many children in Haiti, access to school is out of reach—or simply impossible. That’s why we’re so grateful to intervene even earlier through our START NOW Early Childhood Intervention Program. From birth, little ones are welcomed into a caring environment where they receive nutrient-dense meals filled with fruits, vegetables, grains, and protein sources like eggs, fish, and peanut butter. This early investment helps prepare them for a brighter future.

We are deeply thankful for our faithful partners who make this possible—you’re impacting lives from the very beginning.
Thank You for Helping Restore Electricity!
We were overwhelmed by your generous response last week—$3,700 of the $5,000 needed to repair the clinic’s solar/inverter system has already come in! That leaves just $1,300 to go.
Reliable electricity is critical for running medical equipment, keeping records, and providing quality care. If you'd like to help close this gap, you can donate at this link:👉 Give Today

Thank you for continuing to stand with us in urgent moments like this.
A Sweet Reunion
Pastor Lex and I recently had the joy of visiting our dear friends Stuart & Maike Rankin. Many of you who’ve traveled with us to Haiti will remember them fondly. Maike’s parents, Holger & Sigrun, served with us for six months—modeling true hospitality and servant-heartedness.

They’re now pastoring the International Church at Yale (ICY) in New Haven, Connecticut. We thoroughly enjoyed our time with them and their beautiful children, and were blessed to meet the warm and welcoming ICY community.
Please Pray for Our Haitian Friends in the DR
Over the past couple of weeks, there have been multiple immigration raids in the Dominican villages where we serve. Regardless of political perspectives, it’s impossible to ignore the pain and trauma these families are enduring.
Children are being separated from their parents. Homes are raided and belongings stolen. Physical abuse—of men, women, and children—is an all-too-common reality. I don’t pretend to have the solution, but I do know that each soul matters. Would you join me in lifting them up to our loving Father in prayer?
“The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.” – Psalm 34:18
Remembering the Heart of It All
Life is hard—whether in Haiti, the DR, or here in the States. Let’s continue praying for one another, lifting each other up, and clinging to the hope we have in Christ.
He gave His life for us—not because we were right or deserving—but because He refused to accept eternal separation from the people He loves. What a Savior.
“But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” – Romans 5:8
Honoring Fathers
As we celebrate Father’s Day, we want to take a moment to honor all the dads, father figures, and spiritual fathers in our lives. Your love, strength, and guidance make a lasting impact in the lives of your children and communities.
Happy Father’s Day! May you feel appreciated, celebrated, and encouraged today—you are a gift!
Thank you, friends, for being part of this mission. Your faith, prayers, and generosity are changing lives—one precious person at a time.
